Laurica Farmhouse

This farmhouse was lovingly built by the owner on their working farm to provide a unique connection to the surrounding agriculture.

The massing uses stepping volumetric forms to frame views towards the outdoor gathering spaces of the home.

The home is unique for its environmental focus, the envelope is primarily made of hempcrete, a natural, carbon-sequestering material that offers both thermal mass and insulation in a single wall assembly.

As both builder and resident, the owner brought deep care and intention to the process, resulting in a home that’s thoughtfully connected to its site, the people who live in it, and is resilient by design.
